Valor: Courage or bravery, strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness: personal bravery

Three things in David’s life that prepared him to face Goliath:
- He was prayed up
- He was praised up
- He was powered up

1 Samuel 17:1-11

One scholar has speculated that the weight of all of the pieces of Goliath’s weaponry — his helmet, breastplate, greaves, target of brass, spear, and shield — may have weighed in excess of 700 pounds!"

1 Samuel 17:12-57

1. The battle begins on our knees - Philippians 4:6,7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
2. You first have to know Who’s you are before you can know who you are. Romans 8:17 “Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”
3. Faith must be in God alone-Zechariah 4:6”…Not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Host.”
4. We cannot put on someone else’s armor - Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
